Ring My Bell

The Time and Tide Bell at Bosta, Great Bernera, Isle of Lewis.

This bell is one of 12 situated around the coast of Great Britain, each being unique to it's own location.

The brainchild of sculptor, film-maker, composer and musician Marcus Vergette, the bells are rung by the movement of the tides and play constantly varying notes.

Beautiful. You've got a good shot of the bell and caught all the varying colours in the water. I went there about seven years ago and was blown away by how lovely it was. Thanks for reminding me.

Thank you very much Jean. Me too - I could not get over how beautiful it was. When you look at how white the beaches are and the wonderful colours in the sea it could easily be some exotic island location anywhere in the world. I would love to go back there as there was so much more that we didn't see. I am pleased it brought back good memories. Hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Thank you very much * ઇઉ *. Really appreciated. Yes it can be recorded. As I understand it the high tides cause a clapper to ring the bell but data is collected. I found a mention of someone recording the bell and using it as their ring tone on their mobile phone. How cool is that?!!
