Swing! HFF!

What a nice picture! I love that building...the architecture and stone walls are fantastic! I really like the setting too, so pretty. As well, the textures of the brick and stone walls is really nice to look at. And finally, the swing gate is really cool...I'd love to see it in action.

Thank you very much Karen. Both inner and outer harbours are dry at low tide and there is significant tidal variation on this coat of up to 15m. There has been a harbour here for centuries and it was a fishing harbour until the 19th Century, when the entrance was improved to allow vessels and lock gates were added. It became a busy harbour from which timber and agricultural products were traded with South Wales in exchange for coal and limestone for use in the kilns. The present gates were installed in 1913 and nowadays the harbour is mainly used by pleasure craft.
