Ein lieblicher Gesang - A sweet song

In the light of the setting sun, this male European robin (Erithacus rubecula) has positioned himself in a hedge at the edge of the forest and is singing his melodic song. The enchanting twittering will captivate any nature lover time and time again. As with other birds, the male's singing serves to mark its territory.
