Berny, this is an exceptional photograph. Everything about it is totally perfect. Details, angle, composition, b/w format...just WOW! Makes me wonder if you were a professional photographer back in the day. I mean, all these years ago, and from a film camera...and I know your photography from your trips...you really are quite the hotshot with a marvelous eye for an outstanding view. What a treat. Now I must stomp around in your folders to see if I'm right about your past! :D

Well, I don't know if you were a professional photographer but you might as well have been. Talent all the way back, sir! :) I didn't look at a fraction of your exceptional collection here on ipernity but what I did see were vastly awesome. You have been some places, that's for sure, and you have a great looking family too. I always appreciate gifted photographers that are so good I never run into a blah picture! :) I would be happily entertained for weeks wandering through your albums. :)

Janet, thanks for the honor ;-) I was never a professional photographer and I didn't read and study much about photography, but I like to search for good point of views and try to make proper treatments. Some people say, possibly I have "a good eye", maybe. It's simply a great pleasure to share impressions with others and invite them to virtually travel together ;-)

What an historic photograph of my hometown, Berny. This area is much more developed now. ..

I've seen it on Google Earth! I didn't think, that's it possible to build even much more skyscrapers between the old ones. Great to see someone from Chicago here. I visited my uncle there in 1986. He lived in N Major Ave.

Yes, I know N. Major Ave. very well. I will try to get a photograph of how it looks today ... from a similar perspective. The thing is visitors see this city with new eyes compared to use natives. So this perspective is something I don't think I have in my archives.

What I like here is the sharpness of the foreground and the foggy atmosphere on the background, a very well conducted contrast and composed photograph.
