Excellent aerobic exercise, Gudrun. I also hate the graffiti. It happens in Shrewsbury too. The council upgraded a covered footbridge for the station about 5 years ago. It looked superb, but the cream paintwork was an open invitation for those who think their work is artistic. It gets touched over with paint by the council, but the clean newly painted patches are also discordant.

Graffiti are a big problem everywhere and I'm not sure that painting over/ removing them is the way to go. It's often an invitation for the taggers to start again or, as in the case with our house, the sandstone facade was damaged by the aggressive stuff they had to use for graffiti removal.

Great images of this stairway which reminds me of the one in Montmartre, Gudrun. A pity about the mess caused by graffiti though, it certainly isn't street art. HFF and best wishes for the weekend

Thanks very much, George! Plenty of steps in our town, it's difficult to avoid them;-) The sprayers are a real pest, our house also has graffiti, we have stopped getting them removed.

A lovely little series Gudrun...........all captured in nice light and super detail and there are some hints of autumn colour in the trees.

The main image is nicely composed and I like the graffiti and the fallen leaves on the steps and I like the second PiP for mostly the same reasons. My favourite is the first PiP showing the bicycle - it's a wonderful "detail" shot" and I like the foliage flowing over the wall.

Thank you so much, Peter! The stairs are usually public and so nobody feels responsible, in winter the snow isn't removed. With the graffiti it's a battle you cannot win. We had some on our facade removed, had to have the sandstone repaired and shortly after there were new graffiti...
