Die Landschaft sieht ja gut bewohnt aus, aber die Felsmassen darüber - zwar farblich sehr beeindruckend und schön, aber doch auch bedrohlich. Ich hab mir mal das Satellitenbild der Gegend in grösserem Maßstab aufgemacht. Das sieht wirklich nach urzeitlicher Urgewalt aus - man erschauert in Ehrfurcht:

Dank dir, Klaus! Diese bunten Felsen sind alles Sedimente von uralten Flüssen und Seen. Durch die Auffaltung der Anden wurden die gekippt. Ich habe die Berge nicht als bedrohlich empfunden, es ist eine uralte Kulturlandschaft, dort verlief ein wichtiger Inka-Handelsweg. Das war auch der Grund, weshalb die Gegend Weltkulturerbe ist. whc.unesco.org/en/list/1116
