This one must be viewed large Gudrun! The Lagoon colours are so beautiful. The testures and colours of the rock are also quite amazing and it is a very beautiful picture.

I love the light and the colour palette in this image...........and viewing large really brings out the colours, such subtle green and blue tones and a bright slice of brown water full of pink flamingos!

The tiny flamingo bottom right anchors the shot nicely. In the top half, the earthy tones and textures of the rock are fantastic. I'm glad I can't smell the sulphur though!

Thanks a lot, Keith! We were lucky with the cloud shadows, much better than just glaring sun. Luckily I have never minded the suphur smell, you also get that in NZ or Iceland;-)

... ging mir genau wie Volker: meinte zuerst, einen bedrohlich dunklen Wolkenhimmel zu sehen - ist schon eine sehr extreme Landschaft dort.

Danke vielmals, Heidi! Immerhin Wolkenschatten sind drauf;-) Extrem ist's da wirklich- extrem hoch, extrem karg, man staunt, dass da überhaupt was lebt.

Absolutely! Some of my most interesting travels included a little stink. Or a lot.

Im Yellowstone N.P. in den USA habe ich den Schwefelgeruch auf Dauer sogar lieben gelernt. ;-)

Ich habe mich in Rotorua daran gewöhnt;-) Auf Island kann dir's heute noch passieren, dass es im Bad nach faulen Eiern riecht, wenn du das warme Wasser aufdrehst...
