Hever Castle- window views (2xPiP)
Anne Boleyn who was born at Hever Castle wouldn't have seen the "Tudor" buildings in the background as they were built in the 20th century by the Astors;-)
www.hevercastle.co.uk

Gudrun club has replied to Erhard Bernstein clubGudrun club has replied to Chrissy clubGudrun club has replied to Jaap van 't Veen clubIt is on my list of places to visit. I was so engrosed in the main picture that I didn't see the PiP's at first...they are beautiful as well.

This was on August 10, 2003 and was recorded at Faversham, Kent, so not a million miles from Hever Castle. I was with my sister's Spanish family and even they felt it as it was combined with high humidity, not something usually they suffer from in Madrid!
We all enjoyed the visit though, including a picnic on the grassy slopes above the moat. There, I recall the pleasing shade from the mulberry trees which had the largest, ripest and sweetest fruit I can ever recall (and that includes from the South of France).
Gudrun club has replied to Andy Rodker clubI'm amazed you got into Hever for free as an NT member, these days it's private.
In my interrailing days I had a NT Scotland membership ( that was cheaper!) where I could also visit English and Welsh properties for free which isn't possible any longer.
