Winchester Cathedral- crossing

Winchester Cathedral- crossing
The crossing and the choir vaults are made from wood, the nave (right) has a stone vault.
Die Vierung und der Chor haben Holzdecken, während das Langhaus ein steinernes Gewölbe hat.

The transepts retain the Norman style of the late 11th century.
Die Querschiffe sind im ursprünglichen romanischen Stil des späten 11. Jh erhalten.

I really must go inside next time I visit. My list is so long that I don't know when that will be but I intend to visit Malmesbury Abbey in Wiltshire soon.

Thank you so much, Rosa! Actually, it was grey and rainy outside but they had very clever interiour uplighting:-) If you go there you must reserve plenty of time and hopeully you'll get to see the crypt which was closed when we were there.

Das mit der Vierung habe ich so nicht geschafft - da waren dauernd Leute zwischen dem Chorgestühl.
Aber das hier ist natürlich ein beeindruckender Blick - und auch hervorragend bearbeitet!

Schönen Dank, Werner! Da hatte ich Glück, einen "unbevölkerten" Moment zu erwischen:-) In Canterbury musste ich außemittag fotografieren, da lag eine Handyknipserin endlos lange genau in der Mitte auf dem Boden;-)
