Bent

Bent
Remains of the bridge over Skeiðarársandur, destroyed in the 1996 jökulhlaup after the Gjálp (Grimsvötn) eruption. The peak flow was 45.000 m3/s, sweeping away even the strongest construction.
The bent steel supports were placed by the ring road as a monument to the destructive forces of nature.

Danke, Dany! Da gibt es keinen richtigen Platz... Die Schwemmebene ist 1000km² groß und irgendwo muss die RIngstrasse durch;-) Gerade bauen sie eine neue zweispurige Brücke (die derzeitige ist einspurig), damit sie im Fall des nächsten Ausbruchs die Leute schneller evakuieren können.
