Reynisfjara and Cape Dyrhólaey

The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is very popular with tourists but dangerous because of strong currents and sneaker waves. Seen here near sunset, the inset photo was taken a bit later.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! It's a wonderful dramatic beach but many tourists seem to have no brain. Parents letting their kids play at the water's edge and getting shirty with people warning them.....And Asian tourists ignoring even the most glaringly obvious signs (all pictograms, so nobody can say they couldn't read the language).

Diese Felsen sind inzwischen schon das Werbe- Aushängeschild für die Insel schlechthin. Kommen auch über all in allen TV-Sendungen vor, wo Island z.Zt. sehr in ist.

Herzlichen Dank, Udo! Genau das ist das Problem:-/ Speziell die chinesischen Touristen interessieren sich nur für ein paar bestimmte Orte, wo unbedingt ein Selfie gemacht werden muss. Den Rest der Insel verschlafen sie im Bus, aber an den In-Orten steigen sie über alle Absperrungen....
