it's going to be so much fun. it has a rechargeable battery, unlike the original cameras - that means no recylcling problems!

I'm still learning about the light requirements for this camera, but I am already having fun. My son won't let me post the cool one I took of him (and I try to respect his boundaries), but more to come soon indeed.

My mum would be SOOOO envious! She loved hers and was devastated when things moved on and technology left her behind! My dad, my siblings and I might do something about it for her next birthday. A pity we didn't think about it for this Christmas - we should have done!

I am so lucky!!

It is pretty easily available now. The film is still on the expensive side, but getting better as they keep progressing.

Ah, you had a Polaroid OneStep? This is now a new one that has the battery in the camera, but takes the new Impossible/'Polaroid Original' film. First new Polaroid camera in a very long time.

Yes, I had (and have) old Polaroid cameras. This is a new one - the first new Polaroid camera in ages. Based on the OneStep, it has a renewable battery in the camera. Takes the new Impossible (now Polaroid Original) film. I love going backwards in time!!

Happy New Year and the best to you as well!

I own the original SX-70 Land camera that was my father's as well as a few others, but this new one has its own quirks that are fun to learn. It has sharp focus, but doesn't seem to like low light, so its forcing me to try some new things. So yes, I'm having fun! Thanks!!

Obviously I still don't know enough about photography. I would have guessed it is the film (sensor on digital cameras) that defines how camera works in low light. Or do you mean the camera does not focus well in low light?

raingirl club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
Well, you are right, but there are other things as well. Aperture and exposure times are the other factors. This camera has no aperture variable - a point and shoot. It does have a small amount of modification for dark and light, but only 1/2 a stop each direction. Other of my polaroid cameras have a better ability to expose the photo for longer. This of course adds to potential for blur, but I can still get an exposure in a darker place.

The Impossible Project bought the last Polaroid factory a number of years ago and came up with new chemical mixtures to make the film again. They've been selling their film and refurbished Polaroid cameras and an i-type camera they created etc. They only just bought rights to the Polaroid name, and just now have made this new camera based on the original OneStep with minor changes. It's so exciting that it's made a come back.
