Baby Mushroom All Alone

Yesterday I was planning on beginning on our latest work project, but I couldn't resist scampering off to our lower forest to see if there were any mushrooms. HOLY MUSHROOM EXPLOSION!! I found so many that I asked Steve if we could push our job for one day so I could take pictures, and happily, it was ok! I spent the next few hours taking hundreds of pictures of mushrooms, getting covered in burrs and getting poison oak all over me, YAY!!

This adorable little baby was shyly poking its head up out of a rotting log and looked a little bit frightened to be all by itself on that enormous log. I love the cap's similarity to the bell of a jellyfish!
