Yes, these are wild specimens of the native California palm (Washingtonia filifera), still hanging on by now-dry Sheep Hole Oasis, near Box Canyon Road in the Orocopia Mtns Wilderness. Vandals think it's great fun to set the dead fronds on fire, which is why the trunks are blackened. At least these trees survived; one in the group in the inset did not.
