HFF. SORRY! DELETED BY MISTAKE.
I DO WISH THE DELETE BUTTON WAS FAR AWAY FORM THE EDIT BUTTON. APOLOGIES TO ALL THOSE WHO ADDED VERY INTERESTING COMMENTS. :o((
OK; again ... I passed this way half an hour later and the whole lot had been strimmed. The council do this every year, apparently as it is a 'fire risk'. Why they can't wait until after the colourful spring wildflower display completely beats me!
TONIGHT I WILL SHOW THE AFTER EFFECT. THOSE OF A SENSITIVE DISPOSITION SHOULD WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW BY WHICH TIME I WILL HAVE DELETED IT (deliberately this time!).

Andy Rodker club has replied to Ecobird clubAndy Rodker club has replied to David G Johnson clubYes, but what streetview doesn't show easily is just how hilly it is. Any walk into the shopping centre involves a trudge back uphill all the way!
Also where the poppies are (or 'were') a huge hedge is showing which hasn't existed for a long time. So I went and had a mosey myself with Streetmap close by here at where I now live and none of the major changes my sister and her husband made to their front garden have been started and that was over 5 years ago which shows how old these Streetmap images can be!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Herb Riddle clubReally strange when wildflowers are trimmed while they're still blooming.
Anyway, happy weekend to you.
Andy Rodker club has replied to * ઇઉ * clubAll too common in my experience in both Spain and Cornwall.
In Cornwall, the country lanes are gloriously alive with colour in May. When they are at their absolute best, the council sends out the strimmers. The reason? to avoid large litigation costs as townie summer tourist drivers fail to negotiatie the narrow and overgrown lanes. A pity, but there is at least some logic to it!
Belated HFF and have a nice weekend,Andy!
Best wishes
Füsun
