Another modern art exhibit. Reflections in the wood.

Another modern art exhibit. Reflections in the wood.
Jardín de Nuevos Ministerios. I think it represents watercraft but the notes were impossible to read at that angle and in the etremely bright light.
Nuevos Ministerios, Designed by renowned architect Secundino Zuarzo in the 1920s but building work was delayed by the civil war And in the 1940s, Franco wanted changes along more traditional lines so what you see is a mix of art deco and late 19th century norms, It actually seems to work!

Are you sure it's not a case of 'The King was in the Altogether' no one dares to say it a big wooden crate !!!

It has a nice sweep, viewed from sideways on, Peter - a shot of which I have but this is the better photo.
Yes, there is that aspect to it. For me it all depends on my mood at the time.
I'm inconsistent; on some days I might really like it - on other days it's 'What a load of old tripe!'

Some tripe and onions would be good :))

I love tripe and onions and I am lucky that it is a national dish in Spain (but secretly I much prefer the UK version - my grandmother made the BEST)!

The wood is a lovely colour and the whole thing a graceful shape. I like the polished top and the reflections. I think the difficulty is that people sometimes compare new and modern art work to works of art that have survived through time. Great works. Only time will tell which recent works will join the great. But we can still enjoy them.

Something I personally don't appreciate but Madrid being Madrid I guess it fits in with the modern trend.

Andy Rodker club has replied to HappySnapper
Not really, Maurice! They are mainly traditionalists in Madrid but the artistic avant garde is small in number yet loud in epression!.

As this is supposed to represent watercraft, that is a well-chosen turn-of-phrase, Roger!

I should imagine it would be really too hot to sit on that in the daytime. It's a nice colour though.
