The first raised water tower in Madrid. In use 1911 - 1952, Now an art gallery and exposition centre. Original construction (and still owned) by the water company Canal de Isabel II. Architects Luis Moya Idígoras and Ramón de Aguinaga.
I also think the foreground wall is attractive in a "Mondrian / Klee / Braque / Machu Picchu" kind of way.

My first walk in 2.5 months, Rosa!
I download the Times so I catch up with news from the UK and compare with Spain.
As of today, in Spain and the UK, there seem to be rampaging murderous youngsters sticking their fingers up to life. I have not been so dispirited nor full of despair since the start of lockdown ... and this is far far worse.

Unfortunately there are idiots around but I have only seen people behaving well in my area. It seems to be worse in coastal areas...the sun goes straight to their heads! I wish the daily figures were given not as UK but the four separate countries. We could then work out percentages much more easily. I met with my eldest daughter yesterday in Shaftesbury for the first time since lock-down and we were very conscious to keep the 2m distancing.

Yes, I was angry when I typed my last post and I musn't do that as I need to keep my blood pressure down! I went for a walk today and saw many idiots, but far more sensible types. I just hope that the latter can outnumber the former for long enough!
What I wouldn't give for a cup of tea and a slice of cake in Shaftesbury right now!!!!

Understandable though Andy. It's the idiots that make the news!
So strange not to see the cafe open on Gold Hill, but the bakery in town were offering take away drinks. Take care and have a good Wednesday.

Indeed, Rosa. Our old haunts might now be history, and I despair because of the human tragedies that lie beneath each case (and because for those of us that have lived through many lesser recessions and failed or survived them)... and this will be onedownward lurch too far.
