Sierra de La Cabrera

Sierra de La Cabrera
Granite and gorse and the ubiquitous yellow and white waymark signs (a fresh dab of paint which is nice but, really, these are splashed on rocks and trees every 20 yards or so which is way too much!).

The waymarks fit well into the overall colour scheme! I guess for some people there cannot be enough signs, they still manage to lose their way;-)

That's true! And as they are painted and maintained by volunteers (members of local climbing and walking clubs), one shouldn't be too picky!

To my untrained eye those waymarks seem to fit in OK. I would welcome them I think, as from what I've seen from your photos, some of the paths are not that easy to follow especially for the less experienced.

Love the shot too Andy............especially the splash of yellow from the gorse bush.

Thanks Keith!
Actually these waymarks only appear on the major paths - ones that anyone can follow very easily anyway. They become handy in bad weather and when the path forks and you want to know which fork is the recognised 'path' for the route (if that is the route you are following and it would normally be one from a guidebook). Otherwise, to have them appear every few yards on a straight and well trodden path seems to me a tad excessive!
When I go 'off-piste' so to speak, the paths are fainter, I agree but I am usually whithin a few hundred feet of one of these main, waymarked, paths as there are so many in this Sierra.

What is OP, Fred?
I have taken some in 2016, 2017, 2018 - all post Pano. I mix them with shots from 2011 - 2015.

Better than marking the path with blazes consisting of a chunk of bark chopped out of a tree! As they used to do all the time over here. However, we did end up using old blazes for route finding on a faint trail this last weekend.
