HFF! A corner of Pinner.

HFF! A corner of Pinner.
Pinner, Middlesex, One of the few true villages still extant in the London area. A photo from 1979 - my Pentax ME SLR and b/w film, scanned.
I came here for a job interview. I was in my last year at uni. I was early and walked around and took a few photos (I had packed my SLR with my notes for the interview for some strange reason).
I did OK at the interview, forgot all about it, went to France for a year after my finals, then got a message from my Dad that the firm in Pinner wanted to know what had happened as I had been due to start many months ago!
I had very little recollection of all this, except a few black and white photos, of which this is one.
Upshot: 35 years work in the Financial Services Industry, starting with this firm in Pinner before I finally upped sticks and came to Spain 7 years ago.
That was the short answer. The long answer is ...........

Thank you John. I still have the Pentax. But the last shot I took with it was in 1983. I then took no photos whatsoever until 2011 with a camera phone and later a digital camera. Please don't begin to ask me why!

But still, I am puzzled. Why digital? This photo was taken in 1979 when digital was a concept long in the future.

That is really a corner!
And a great mono shot - taken two years after I bought my first (and actually only) SLR, a Yashica. Cost me 200.- Deutsche Mark, which was almost a months' salary for me as a garderner trainee. Should dig it out of its deep corner in the cupboard, once.

A very deep corner in a cupboard is where my Pentax and lenses sit and they deserve better than that but what can we do?

The centre of Pinner is protected and all the buildings are listed so it should look exactly the same! It was still the same as this when I last lived here in 2009.

A nice yesteryear image you need a modern one for comparison, get a film and try the Pentax, film cameras made you consider each shot carefully because of the cost

1. I haven't set foot in Pinner since 2009 and am unlikely to do so in the foreseeable future and
2. my old Pentax is in my parents' house in Cornwall and I live in Madrid!

Beautiful old B&W. All my old film cameras went to charity. The only old camera I have is a Coronet from the 1930's or earlier. It belonged to my Dad and I took a few photos with it when I was a child and then a teenager. Still works.
