I see these places (many here too) and wish some handy folk would set too.. there are so many homeless that would love to help themselves and put a roof over their heads.

Many dont have the skills but would be willing to learn.

Nowadays in the UK if a property is empty for too long the Council will take steps towards the owners !! .....So a lot of people knock down dwelling to avoid this ....My Mother used to live 3 doors away from me, when she passed was sold & the builder knocked it down & has remained open ground for the last 14yrs, but good for the wildlife !!!

Yes, here too, but sometimes there is a long delay because the county can't find the owner of abandoned property.
