Runswick Bay – dog walk beach and valley exit

Runswick Bay – dog walk beach and valley exit
As we set off across this sea-weed strewn beach, our exit is just up a sharp steep valley to the right of the nearest people. It seems a favourite place for dog walkers but for us the many sand-flies here caused by this weed is a bit of a put-off. The PiP's shows the climb out of the beach, through the small stream, over a bridge then a big flight of steps to the headland. On viewing the vertical plank photo you can also see some of the many flies hovering in the sky. Fortunately we left them all behind here.

Nice full size.

English people walk a lot...happily for their dogs!
A beach so rich in seaweed! The smell is special and with beautiful tones
An image with wonderful mood
The valley photos are extremely curious and revealing, walking along it requires expertise

A lot of our people do enjoy walking Judite and as you say fortunate for the many dogs they own too. This did smell quite strong attracting the flies no doubt. The walking up the valley was of course difficult for none-walkers but we (and we are both around 70) had no problems with that. It would have been worse an hour or two later as the tide made the entrance to the valley almost impossible to get to. Glad you liked it all and the info.

Keep safe. Herb

A fine beach scene, but I'm surprised by the amount of seaweed. Great PiPs too, Herb, and I can fully appreciate what a problem sand-flies can be. Stay safe and have a good week.
