Wow that was quick Marie-claire. Yes we had some very dramtic skies here, of which you will see more of. This was one of our worse days as far as sight seeing though. Glad you liked this shot anyway.

Great athmospheric scene, Herb !

It looked excellent and quite exciting but it was rough to walk. Our faces were red raw after the walk after being pummeled by sand and blowing sea-water on the wind.

Kudos to you for getting out! The image sums up perfectly the weather you describe. Nicely minimalist with a subdued colour palette and with some nice light on the water and sand. I like the way you've used the seaweed as a leading line. A great job under the circumstances - and well worth the effort. I hope you enjoyed your coffee :-))

Always good to read your breakdowns of my pictures Keith. I, like you, always try to make a connection between the photo and my thoughts via my descriptions here. I took some more interesting pictures too but they were even more out of focus than this due to a smear of fine water etc on the camera filter. As you know -lead in and outs are almost on my mind when snapping. You already know that I try hard to get my compositions right. The hot coffee came in the nick of time as it had just started to torrential it down again. Cheers for the call. ~ Herb

In September? I don't know the area,I only visited once and it was August, but it seems strange.

The best photos are often in bad weather !! Herb, my camera is weather proof but that doesn't mean I always remember the rain spots on the lens

I think you are right there Peter. Most of my better photos are taken in rubbish weather. Perhaps I should invest in a more weatherproof camera too but unto now, my equipment has always survived and as you say, it does not entirely protect you from the rain spoiling your shots. Thanks for that Andy. You cannot tell from here, but this is actually a peninsula, so there is more sea behind the dunes to our right and directly ahead about another 500yrds too. Across the sea there -shown in the distance here, is an almost duplicate peninsular directly to our north, almost an hours drive away by car. Glad you liked this walk with me.

Given the weather, you did well to capture this scene and I can imagine your concern about the camera and lens with sand and spray flying around. I'd say you deserved your coffee afterwards. :-)
