Thanks George. Yes the road getting to this lane was completely blocked too resulting in a hard slog for me but the results were worth it as I took a interesting shots on this outing a few years ago now. As you say, skis would have been useless here -snow shoes a better option.

Hi Daniela, it was a fine view and opportunity for me for sure. In fact this was taken in 2010 and was in dear olf Panoramio too. A little too nice to be left languishing and so its nice to present it back here in our HFF group. You have escaped then, so far. On our aeroplane over central Europe and Greece recently, everywhere seemed to be covered by deep snow. Glad you liked this anyway.

Ah yes, like me, I often wonder about a photograph and then find the answers in replies on the same page. I supposed I could have written its history in the description but I wanted to keep the illusion for a while longer. I missed the heavy snows around here which happened a couple of weeks back and the nearest to that was the very light snow and frost depicted in my recent photos on here. Anyway, very happy that you have still enjoyed this one and I still have more snow and ice fence shots to come :)

Thanks Kes. Yes, unlike this year 2010 was very snowy indeed. My local historical monument here. It was in fact a cafe for some years. Yes it has two floors of accommodation (of sorts). It was floodlit for a few years before vandals smashed all the lights!

I love the lights and shadow play of the drifting snow. We've had no snow to speak of here in Shropshire. In fact it's very mild at the moment.

Hi Carol, not snow of this year but nine years ago! Our snowfalls nowadays are rarely as deep as this although we had a lot last year too. This years heavy snow came and went whilst we were in Cyprus. However there is still time, a lot of our snows come at the end of February .
