Sculptor Galxay NGC253

Sculptor Galxay NGC253
Almost a year ago Almost to the day My first ever photo with a dedicated astro camera was taken. it was not without the huge effort of Carlos Taylor to tame the Computer and all the programs. NGC253 a year apart and a different camera(1520mm POV) but same scope and target. to look back is to see just how far you have come is a good thing you see just how more rewarding this type of photos are. I am happy that I have been able to do the target and effort of Carlos Taylor and more than a few others out there giving support, some justice. never in my wildest dream thought I would be able to produce an image like this. this was the level I always wanted to shot astro photos from the start.

For those wondering like myself just why the different orientation between the two shot this I started early the first was started very late after fixing the computer.

QHY183C -10c 136 shot 10 min over three nights( one of those set on auto when i was out shooting the milky way well away from home) night 4 is burn off smoke and clouds so I post some 22 hours of shot time.

I'm totally impressed by the dedication required for astro shots like these, Steve (I have another friend in Vic, not on ipernity, who also does this). Great results, so good they are matching your level of commitment.

You have to be prepared to do the time that's for sure to get this far and results like this I can only say from my point of view been worth it. The good part also is just about all I have done has been done from my own back yard in the City and have not had to travel. send a link to some of his photos always keen to learn from others.

NGC253 as we could never hope to see it, let alone capture it like this. I did wonder what this Galaxy was called. As George above says, dedication in spades! It has paid off. Very well done.

Keep good. Herb

Herb as you know just how much has gone into the learning process . to bring this Galaxy into better POV with the smaller camera was one of my aims to bring them to life as they are just so small. this is a style of photography you have to have dedication in bucket loads to get any where but I can also feel comfortable Leaving the gear at home to shoot targets while I go out and shoot the milky way which I could not do before.

The Bow

thank you for your comment it is good to see that others appreciate the photos as well.

I will only be able to take shot per clear night and almost moon free night but you will see more this time of year is coming up Orion area which has a lot of targets. thank you for the comment.

Wow. That is some image and such dedication. I knew astro-photography wasn't simple but it is more complex than I realised. A brilliant result so well worth all the effort.

I started just before Covid hit the world getting help and bits became so much harder. this is a discipline that take just a whole lot more than you would think.

Set up- For those interested

to run all this is a computer and it has to behave correctly. No it did not. The long the short almost two years down the line I feel comfortable to set the gear off on its own while I go out and shoot the Milky Way. to put it mildly as those there that know me what I start I do my best to master and carry forward.

You see some thing you just cant see you are looking 1560mm worth of view out of a 600mm scope. I always get a kick out of the images as they take shape the way I always wanted them to be. many thanks I enjoy the results no end and I am glad when others do as well.

nick as a person who know me and what this journey looks like from the start I am doing finally some justice to all the teaching and work from others. to get to the stage of being able to set off this whole sequence and not be home is quite an achievement and takes a bit of faith none the less.

I am happy to say I am finally here even teach others as I was to make there lives just as fulfilling. oh this is definitely out of this world but killed by clouds, rain and moon its cramping my style. thank you for the praise only make me think all this has been worth while for others than myself to enjoy as well.
