Large Magellanic Cloud and surrounding area.
I got my mount back after the belt upgrade and tried the mount out. This was taken with quite a lot of moon light. such a lot of nebula's in this area. Don't even try to count the stars in this shot the number is staggering.

This is a two shot vertical panorama taken by the Nikon 300mm F4D lens and also take on Auto focus. I had to rethink the formula to work out focus for a telescope and try and fit it to a lens. the normal step size was suppose to be 125 but I cut the step size to 40 and got auto focus to work.

the mount is so much more sensitive I have had to learn how to balance again its so sensitive you have to balance with all heads loose to get perfect balance. also guiding had to be re set all the settings had to be fixed up again a lot of it turned out to be getting balance right. also its more sensitive to very strong winds

Thank you Isabel Its far better than trying to use some scope so big you can get it all in this is where these lenses come into there own. this opens up a whole different world to not only deep space but also a more wider field.

James Webb Space Telescope ready to make history ~ I expect that you know all about this project Steve. I wonder if you will be able to see it as it starts its journey.

Congratulations on all your work ~ it is out of this world :)

Have a good Christmas

yes that will be a very interesting telescope indeed to say the very least I will be keen to see it finally get up in space and working. my work is quite ordinary compared to Hubble and James Webb but my feet are firmly on the ground. we shall see just how I can use the things I have to get as much of space as well.

Such a well-balanced shot - there certainly are a lot of stars up there! And the insert shots are really nice, too!

It certainly is its a great view on my desktop such a lot up in this area but I did always know it just never quite took it like this. kind of does make you wish for a even larger scope.
