Nice catch there Rosalyn, I too have seen this close behaviour in our garden. Blackbirds breeding season starts rather early in March, their maternal/parental instinct is quiet strong and they quiet fearlessly follow you around when looking for food to take to the nest, did you notice the female nearby? she won't be as bold.

Thank you Maurice. I think they have nested in one of the hedges, but I haven't seen the female for a while. I hope to see the offspring sometime though.
