A beautiful ' Chocolate Box' image Rosalyn, Groby Pool is the largest natural expanse of water in Leicester best described as a mess nature has been allowed to take over which in reality means brambles and similar rampant rubbish

Super collection of images from around the pond and this oh so English rural scene Rosa. I like the evidence of a light rain falling on the surface of the pond and the superb reflection provided by the still water.

It is indeed, and where Michelle now lives. That's her chimney just left of the large thatched cottage.

I recognise this pond from an earlier image of yours...............it seems (unsurprisingly) to have grown quite considerably in size and looking at the ripples on the surface it's still raining!

It really is a beautiful scene though.........and so very English! The PiPs are delightful. The "toads crossing" sign and the daffodils against the wall are great indications that spring is here. The rural shelter is lovely too (a bus stop I assume).

A super collection............beautifully taken! Enjoy the remains of the weekend and have a nice week.

I'm up in this village a lot Keith, as my daughter lives there. It is full now and yes, surprise, surprise...it is raining ;-)

I think the shelter is just for people to sit and admire the pond and general scene. I have never seen a bus there. There are a lot of great walks through the forest and views of the Cranborne Chase, so there are a lot of visiting walkers.

There used to be a school bus in the fifties, I had a fried who was the son of the post master. I used to ride my bike up to Ashmore from Shaftesbury now and then. Never saw the toads though ~ Happy days

Last week we met the woman who lives in the old post office stores in the village. What a shame that is not still running. There are a lot of village shops close-by that seem to be doing well though, in Chettle, Ludwell and Fontmell Magna. Gosh, whichever way you went to Ashmore from Shaftesbury, must have been a tough ride!

Imágenes bien grabadas y lugar precioso. El animal protegido podría ser el “sapo corredor”, en mi pueblo los están protegiendo, cercando varias charcas.

It is good to hear that they are well protected José. There have been a few that have not made it to the pond in Ashmore, but the volunteers are doing a wonderful job in keeping them safe.
