Thank you so much for your kind comments. It was a lovely garden and I learnt a few interesting things from the head gardener. They had dahlias there that were over 6ft tall. Thank you also for the big star :)

Thank you Gudrun. My NT membership has lapsed and I thought I would leave it for a year, but even at Stourhead you can walk around the walled garden and all around the garden at the house without charge. Of course most people want to see the whole thing, but it's a good thing to remember if you just have a short time. :-)) Have you been to Dunster? There is a lot to see there, including the castle, church, mill and mill shop, the above garden and ancient dovecot and of course many, many tea shops ;-))

I'm afraid Dunster is one of the many places I haven't been able to visit yet! But there are at least as many places in Germany I don't know;-)

Yes so many for me too! I would like to visit Germany again, but next time I would go by plane :-)
