All my visits here and I never been around the back, not as tidy as the front though,

I only realised when I saw the tall chimneys peeping over the top Roger. All the work went into the fronts, that's for sure.

Nice one Rosa. Certainly less ornate than the front but that is to be expected. Like the inclusion of the old style lamp.

It was the lamp that I first noticed Doug. Then I saw the chimneys peeping over! You're right, always smarter from the front.

It is always interesting to see the backs of terraced houses I think Peter. I have had a good Sunday thank you, with my sister and daughter coming for lunch.

Two things stand out for me in this image: that wonderful old street lamp and those lovely terracotta roof tiles. Just beautiful Rosa.

Like the view, the architecture and the light very much, Rosa !

It was a little gloomy Ulrich, which seemed to suit this side of the terrace.

With a camera in hand I think we notice so much more the possibilities of a good picture and the contrasts. When I used to paint I was always doing the framing thing with my fingers & thumbs. LOL! Thanks for your kind comments Joe. Cheers, Rosa.

Never having visited Wells, I was unaware of the red tiled roofs (very attractive) which seem more East-Anglian than West Country. I assume there is a local source of this coloured earth to make these.

It seems so much redder at the back of the houses Andy. I must take more note next time I am there. The stone in this area is quite pink/red. There is still a quarry between Wells and Shepton Mallet.

A really nice framing here, the old lamp with the backdrop of the red tiled roofs.
It almost looks like the chimneys are sticking out of the roof, but we know different don't we!!
