A wonderful series of railway images Rosalyn, what was the original use of the line ?

The last standard gauge tracks were lifted in 1984 Peter and that could have been the end but in 1989 the narrow gauge was laid and it has been popular ever since. 1876 was when the first railway line was laid. Thanks for your kind comments on the series.

Superb shots Rosa - you certainly have a 'trained' eye. I also like the fact that two legs are at the same angle and both off the ground !!!!

Hi Rosa,

Very nice picture, which reminded me of 'Taliesin' on the Ffestiniog railway (unfortunately no ipernity picture to share - I must address that asap), It is always nice to see steam locomotives, big or small, and you have captured the spirit so well here!

Best Wishes
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your lovely comments Peter. I just love the smells, the journey and the devotion of all the people who take care of these wonderful trains. Many of them volunteers as well. I think I have some pic's from the Ffestiniog railway....or I might be dreaming! I will check next week.

Best wishes, Rosa.

It was great fun Gudrun. The carriages here were covered in completely but apart from that, very similar.
