A very impressive sculpture! Is it allowed to sit beside him?

He is higher than it looks and I couldn't reach, so sat beside him ;-)

I like this, Rosa. He definitely looks as if he wants someone to sit in his lap.

My legs were too short Amelia....now if I were 20 years younger I might have made it ;-)

Now Rosa, I see here that you sat beside him! So where is that PHOTO?:) this is so unusual, and I really like it. I see a plaque there, is that of some significance Rosa.? an interesting photo and you did a good capture of him!! I would sit beside him also, and if any packages, he would hold them for us there on his lap :)) He has a rather sad face! YS... kind wishes, Sarah

Hi Sarah, I didn't want to spoil the picture ;-)) The plaque just says what the piece is called and who made it. Thanks for your great comments and YS....Best regards, Rosa.

Thank you Roger. It's made from bronze and was crowd funded to keep it in Bruton.

At least he's left room enough for you sit down. The number of people (I notice it more in Spain, especially on railway platforms or bus stops - sorry Spain!), who plonk themselves down in the middle and take up the whole space is amazing!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Andy Rodker club
It still happens here sometimes but usually the person will say sorry and move to make room. Best thing is just to plonk yourself down next to them Andy! They'll soon move ;-))

That is perfectly true, Rosa, and it happens like that in Spain ... sometimes. But the more unsavoury types spread their legs open as far as possible if they think you want to invade their personal space. Some even sneeze and cough madly, (without hand or handkerchief of course). One unpleasant individual even let of a loud f..t as I walked along the platform past him. He needn't have bothered. I wouldn't have gone anywhere near him anyway!
Don't get me wrong, the Spanish are on the whole far more polite and courteous than most English people, I'm ashamed to say.

Nice one Rosa; he does look a bit 'vacant' or possibly spaced out, like the sculpture though!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Roger Dodger
He does look a little vacant ;-) I have looked up the sculptor and many of his pieces feature this face.

Good of him to pose for your camera. :-) It worries me that he reminds me a little of one of our politicians......
