I love all these shots: the closed and the open buds. All the blossom and flowers in the rose family (including these apple ones) are gorgeous.
I agree with Ian. Same in Central Spain, the farmers have had such a horrid Spring that they need to nurture very carefully what has survived and such has been the capriciousness of the weather that a late frost is still possible. Although quite far south, Central Spain is on a high plateau - Madrid is the highest capital city in Europe and has perishingly cold spells right up to the end of May in some years. (Here endeth the lesson!).

Yes, always a possibility Andy. As I told Ian, I have a load of blankets to cover them with in the event of a frost. It's a beautiful weekend here. Always happy to read your tips and horlticultural knowledge. Have a good Sunday :-))
