Sunshine, Silhouettes and Sea Mist

Taken on South Parade Pier Southsea, Hampshire.

The building you can barely see on the horizon (on the right hand side) enveloped in the mist is Horse Sand Fort, one of a number of forts built in the waters of the Solent over 150 years ago in response to a perceived invasion by the French, which never actually happened.

Xata ^club

Love the photo, the Fort on the mist adds to it. Will see the link later tonight, now we are going to "matança", it means killing the pork, (no a person, LOL!), we do it with minimum suffering and utmost respect for the animal. I cannot say I enjoy it, but I love black pork meat so I have to assume... and for most of the people in the village raising a pig is the only way to have meat on a regular basis because they cannot afford to buy it.

An outstanding shot Keith. We had the same weather in Weymouth on the 14th. The glistening sea is beautiful and I just see the outline of the fort. It's deceptively simple and not an easy shot to get right....well, for me anyway.
