HWW to all! , and a large view perhaps!
A seat for the Sunset.
Brean Down across the bay from the Prince Consort Gardens,Weston Super Mare, on a chilly spring evening,
No takers for the many benches as the incoming tide brought a stiff breeze blowing in off of the Bristol Channel,
HBM and a good week to all!
Storms and Sunset!
A stormy evening with the sunset reflecting back from the dark clouds overhead,
The cattle have seen it all before so no need to stop grazing!
Another image from the North Coast 500 around the top of the country
HFF and a good weekend, to all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Large view if possible please!
Wall and Rabbits
A view of the point where the Kyle of Tongue ( a shallow sea loch) meets Tongue Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Just offshore the uninhabited Rabbit Islands (except for the rabbits of course)
The area was a historic crossroads for Gaels, Picts and Vikings and the area is named after an Old Norse term which refers to a piece of land shaped like a spit or tongue. That tongue of land projecting into the Kyle is the terminal moraine of the Kyle of Tongue glacier, (https://discoverhighlandsandislands.scot)
HWW,,,,,,,The image is in 16.9 format therefore a large view is recommended!
Sound!
Joined Chairs to make a bench in a garden by the Clachan Sound taken from the island of Seil side of the humpbacked Bridge, which also known as the bridge over the Atlantic, because both ends of the sound open into the Atlantic Ocean,
The flowers growing from the bridge walls are Fairy Foxgloves (Erinus alpinus)
and are prolific on many buildings on the west coast of Scotland,
HBM and a good week!
Space!
This was the only bit of totally non grey sky we saw all day!
Bridgwater Bay out to the Bristol Channel from Burnham on Sea, often a place for spectacular sunsets, but not this day,
Fences, Sheep and a Storm!
Storm across The Little Minch, which is a sea channel of the Atlantic Ocean between here at Hungladder on the Isle of Skye and the middle islands of the Outer Hebrides sometimes called the Western Isles,
This is an area prone to storms and is a busy shipping lane; 2.5 million tonnes
of shipping pass through the channel each month.
HFF and good weekend,,,,,,,, the usual recommendation to view large if you are able please,
World Photography Day
Changing the date of world photography day may be a help, last year it rained hard and we managed a few shots from under an umbrella, this year the day has been overcast with very flat light and drizzle, had to wait until the very back end of the day to find light good enough for a few images,
This is our local beach on Bridgwater Bay at Burnham on Sea and this low tide image features the Lower Lighthouse with another lighthouse just visible on Flat Holm Island in the distance,
Shot in B&W because I foolishly had the 24-240 lens on the camera which really does not cope with low light like my usual 28-70 f4.
Castle in the Mist,
Castle Sinclair Girnigoe is located about 3 miles north of Wick on the east coast of Caithness, Scotland. It is considered to be one of the earliest seats of Clan Sinclair. It comprises the ruins of two castles: the 15th-century Castle Girnigoe; and the early 17th-century Castle Sinclair. They are designated as a scheduled monument. (Wikipedia)
Taken on a hazy day from Noss Head Lighthouse, HWW and a large view if possible
