XIV Century
The town of Bridgwater, was founded in the year 1200 and St Mary Street was mentioned in documents at that time, it contains a line of fourteenth century cottages including the Old Vicarage Restaurant and hotel as an ex coaching stop, which was given in the sixteenth century by Edward de Chedzoy to be used as a vicarage and that was how it remained until around a hundred years ago.
Parts of this building would have been in place during the Battle of Sedgemoor, fought just outside of the town, this was the last battle fought on English soil,

The roof tiles of the Pan Tile pattern were made in one of the many Brick and tile yards within the town,
The Old Vicarage is now a thriving and popular business! HWW!
Rest a while,

A quiet spell in the lower reaches of the Mennock Pass, which climbs up through the Lowther Hills in Dumfriesshire.
The thin strip of tarmac stays trapped in the confines of a narrow valley all the way up to Wanlockhead, the country’s highest village,
A narrow gauge railway operates between Scotland's highest villages, Leadhills and Wanlockhead. link www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/leadhills/railway/index.html
HFF and a great weekend to all!
Blue Bay Day
Bridgwater Bay Lifeboat and BARB Rescue Hovercraft jetty at Burnham on Sea,
Captured in 16.9 large view if possible please! and four added notes!
The bay is part of the Bristol Channel, at low tide large parts of the channel become mud flats and sand banks due to the large tidal range of 43 ft (13 m)
Some tides come in so fast they are preceded by a large wave called a Bore, these are present on about 130 days in the year and they make a spectacular sight as it travels many miles up the River Parrett,
HWW to all!
Long Distance Walkers
Long distance walkers on the West Highland way near the top of Glen Coe, (Large view may be required)
The West Highland Way is a long-distance route in Scotland. It is 154 km long, running from Milngavie north of Glasgow to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands,
It offers tremendous variety, beginning in the pastoral landscapes beneath the Campsies, past the serene beauty of Loch Lomond, and on into increasingly rugged and majestic Highlands. It then crosses the vast, awe-inspiring expanse of Rannoch Moor, down Glencoe, before crossing the hills to lovely Loch Leven. The route finally reaches Fort William via beautiful Glen Nevis.
