A view from the seafront at Southsea, Hampshire.
Check out the PiP for a view of the Isle of Wight ferry on it's way back to Portsmouth Harbour.
Thanks for looking and have a great day :-)

Big rain
I've just returned from my travels today and this was my rain gauge on returning. In just over a week, there was 255 mm (10 inches) of rain. This was way outside normal weather patterns - a new monthly record in less than half a month! It also matches the record rain and flood events being seen worldwide and consistent with climate change.

March flies are deep black, shiny mosquitoes; you can easily distinguish the males and females by their eyes: males have large, converging eyes; Females have smaller, side-set eyes and a small head. These mosquitoes do not suck blood, they feed on plant juices and nectar and pollinate flowering plants. When mating, the social insects dance in the air and form swarms.
Pip1-3: Close-ups of the March fly (Bibio marci)

Nederland - Beemster
The “Beemster” is the first so called polder in the Netherlands that was reclaimed from a lake by using windmills. The “Beemster Polder” was created during the period 1609 - 1612.
The clay of the polder turned out to be very fertile for growing tulips and nowadays it is one of the newest areas where one can see vast bulb fields during springtime.
