HBM to all!
Ben Loyal!
Ben Loyal across the Kyle of Tonge. Melness, Sutherland,
At the very top of Scotland a short distance off of the North Coast 500 road,
Ben Loyal is composed chiefly of granite, specifically syenite, and has a distinctive shape due to the four rocky peaks, the highest of which is called An Caisteal. To the north of An Caisteal is the 712 m Sgòr Chaonasaid, to the south is Bheinn Bheag (744 m), and to the west is the ridge of Sgòr a Chèirich, 644 m at its highest point. The fourth peak in the picture is the 568 m Sgòr Fionnaich.
16.9 format, a large view perhaps!
Stacks!!
The most North Easterly point on the British mainland is at Duncansby Head, a part of which including the Duncansby Stacks, is shown here unfortunately though a heat haze,
These Great Stack towers at 60m high are some of the finest in the UK!
The people with cameras bottom left of the image were photographing Puffins which breed on the 60m high cliffs, other seabirds including Fulmars, kittiewake, guiliemots, razorbills and the Skua also use these cliffs as a breeding ground,
A large view may help with clarity, HFF and take care in this heat!
1000 years old?
At the very top of the country we find Castle Varrich overlooking the Kyle of Tongue,
The castle walls are generally 1.4 metres (5 ft) thick, or thicker, and have been built from roughly squared blocks of metamorphosed sandstone rock of varying thickness, laid in rough courses of random depth. The stones seem to have been laid without the use of mortar, and have suffered little from weathering, considering that the building may be 1000 years old, (wikipedia)
HWW ! large view recommended!
Tongue Bay!
Looking North to Talmine across Tongue Bay from Strathan, Melness, Sutherland, with the waters of the North Atlantic in the distance,
The area was a historic crossroads for Gaels, Picts and Vikings and the area is named after an Old Norse term which refers to a piece of land shaped like a spit or tongue.
The sea loch and surrounding countryside is designated as the Kyle of Tongue National Scenic Area,
HBM and a large view recommended if possible!
Junction!
Jacks Drove on the Northern edge of the Somerset Levels with the hamlet of Heath House visible on the ridge,In this view an unnamed Rhyne (foreground) meets the North Drain with the combined waters flowing under under Jacks Drove (bridge just visible on the left)
On the Levels Roads are called Droves and maintained watercourses are locally known as Viewed Rhynes. These total 1492 km,
Image in 16.9 format therefor a large view is recommended, HFF to all !

The Dalveen Pass through the Lowther Hills, In the Southern Uplands of Scotland,
The A702 road can be seen cutting across the image (note 1) with The Carron Water which rises close this point and is a tributary of the River Nith, (Note 2)
One field has a well maintained stone wall, while sheep graze the lush pastures!
A large view is better both for detail and clarity, HWW !
