Edinburgh Royal Navy in the Forth WWI (#0485)

Edinburgh Royal Navy in the Forth WWI (#0485)
A plaque with very good detail of the massive effort in the Firth of Forth by the Royal Navy in WWI. What was most impressive to me was the description of the surrender of the German Navy (nine German battleships, five battlecruisers, seven cruisers and 50 destroyers) to the Royal Navy, and the escorting of the fleet into the Firth. The BBC link below provides an excellent description of the day of surrender.

Wording on the plaque: www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMX20W_The_Royal_Navy_in_the_Forth_during_World_War_I_Queensferry_Edinburgh

BBC description of surrender: www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30128199
