Ensign (London Pride) C52 VJU in London – 30 Nov 1997 (378-30)

Sunday 30 November 1997 – London Pride (Ensign) C52 VJU seen in Buckingham Palace Road about to begin a day of sightseeing work around the capital.

The company operated a number of these splendid MCW Metroliner DR130 integrals which when new had operated on long distance National Express coach services.

C52 VJU had been new to Midland Fox (7052) in April 1986 to work services from the East Midlands (Leicester, Derby etc) to London. Originally fitted with 57 seats on the upper deck and 22 on the lower deck.

After sale to Ensign in 1996 it was converted to open top and the upper deck seating capacity increased to 63 which was a boon for such sightseeing work. The lower deck still offered a good amount of covered seating.
