Express Travel J16 AMB in Manchester – 16 April 1995 (261-31)

Easter Sunday 16 April 1995 – After its disagreement with National Express over contract rates in 1994, Express Travel came off all its National Express contracted services and promptly launched its own ‘The Extra Option’ services from Liverpool and Manchester to London.
This Van Hool Alizée bodied DAF SB3000 was seen in Chorlton Street, Manchester – across the street from the National Express coach station - just before 1430 awaiting passengers for its X40 service to London. The registration number J16 AMB shows its pedigree as being a vehicle that was new to Amberline, Liverpool (in June 1992).
