SMT (Eastern Scottish) van in Edinburgh – 2 Aug 1997 (363-3)

Saturday 2 August 1997 – The legal address on this van (F511 YSG) was ‘Eastern Scottish Omnibuses Ltd, Westfield Avenue, Edinburgh’ and it also carrying ‘SMT Edinburgh’ lettering The Scottish Motor Traction Group (SMT) was formed in 1905 and was an antecedent of Eastern Scottish. The SMT name was revived after privatisation in the 1990s. It was seen in St. Andrew Square Bus Station.

The ‘F’ prefix registration series was issued between 1 August 1988 and 31 July 1989. I don’t know much about vans but I think this a Vauxhall Astra.
