Le château des ducs d'Alençon (fin XIIe siècle) est progressivement détruit à partir du XVIe siècle. Aujourd'hui le dernier vestige est une tour à mâchicoulis coiffée d'une tour ronde plus petite et le pavillon d'entrée qui témoigne de la grandeur et de la somptuosité de l'ancien château. En 1804, une prison y est implantée; elle y restera jusqu’en 2010. The castle of the Dukes of Alençon (end of the 12th C.) was gradually destroyed from the 16th C. Today the last vestige is a machicolation tower topped with a smaller round tower and the entrance pavilion which testifies to the grandeur and sumptuousness of the old castle. In 1804, a prison was established there; it remained until 2010. Die Burg der Herzöge von Alençon (Ende des 12. Jhs.) wurde ab dem 16. Jh. nach und nach zerstört. Heute ist der letzte Überrest ein Maschikuli-Turm gekrönt mit einem kleineren runden Turm, sowie dem Eingangspavillon, der von der Grösse und Pracht der alten Burg zeugt. 1804 wurde dort ein Gefängnis eingerichtet; es blieb bis 2010.

Belle trouvaille un matin d'une feuille morte prise dans une toile d'araignée, elle-même prise dans la clôture (voir PiP). CAPTURED! The "Mer de Glace" is a valley glacier located on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif. It is 7.5 km long and 200 m deep but, when all its tributary glaciers are taken into account, it can be regarded as the longest and largest glacier in France, and the second longest in the Alps.

First snow, over ten years ago, always a magical memory. Première neige il y a plus de dix ans, toujours un souvenir magique. Erster Schnee vor über zehn Jahren, noch immer eine zauberhafte Erinnerung.

This was the "New Year's Card" I posted for the year 2017, I think it fits also for 2021... One year ago, during our Christmas stroll around the beautiful Bosméléac-Lake nearby Loudéac. This year we made it again with the same beautiful weather. Il y a un an, pendant la balade de Noël autour du beau lac de Bosméléac près de Loudéac. Cette année nous l'avons fait également, avec le même beau temps. Vor einem Jahr, während der Weihnachtswanderung um den schönen Bosméléac-See bei Loudéac. Dieses Jahr haben wir es auch gemacht, mit genauso schönen Wetter.

Malgré les restrictions, je vous souhaite de BONNES FÊTES DE FIN D'ANNEE avec ceux qui vous sont chers (dans la limite des fameux six....). In 2015 Lake Guerlédan was totally dried up, revealing an astonishing landscape: frozen in the depths, the sunken valley resurfaced with its houses, its gardens, its locks, its dead trees... The dam condition required the repairs of the sealing system to the upstream face and the renovation of the bottom valves and conduits. Voir PIP: VUES SUR LA VALLÉE ENGLOUTIE. . . En 2015 le lac de Guerlédan était totalement asséché, dévoilant un paysage étonnant: figé dans les profondeurs, la vallée engloutie refait surface avec ses maisons, ses jardins, ses écluses, ses arbres morts ... L'état du barrage a nécessité la réparation du système d'étanchéité de la face amont et la rénovation des vannes et conduits inférieurs.
