La porte Saint-Mathurin est l'une des entrées de ce petit village fortifié, entouré d'une enceinte de murailles dont il reste d'importants vestiges. L'enceinte fortifié (12 et 13ème siècles) inclue la motte castrale, les ruines du donjon, les fossés et enceintes du bourg ainsi que les deux portes fortifiées dites de Saint-Rémy et Saint-Mathurin. THAT'S REALLY STURDY! The gate of Saint-Mathurin is one of the entrances to this small fortified village surrounded by a wall of which there are significant remains. The fortified complex (12th and 13th C.) includes the castle hill, the ruins of the keep, the moats and fences of the village and the two fortified gates Saint-Rémy and Saint-Mathurin. DAS IST ECHT STANDHAFT! Das Saint-Mathurin-Tor ist einer der Eingänge zu diesem kleinen befestigten Dorf, das von einer Mauer umgeben ist, von der bedeutende Überreste vorhanden sind. Die befestigte Anlage (12. und 13. Jh.) umfasst den Burghügel, die Ruinen des Bergfrieds, die Gräben und Einfriedungen des Dorfes sowie die beiden befestigten Tore Saint-Rémy und Saint-Mathurin.

Depuis longtemps, on lie Lassay-les-Châteaux à la légende arthurienne, et plus particulièrement, à l'un des ces plus célèbres chevaliers : Lancelot du Lac. Fils d'un roi, il se prénomme d'abord Galaad, il est enlevé encore enfant par la fée Viviane (la Dame du Lac) qui le rebaptise Lancelot. Parvenu à l'âge adulte, il devient l'un des meilleurs chevaliers de la Table Ronde. Son amour pour la reine Guenièvre, épouse du Roi Arthur, le rend impur, lui interdisant ainsi d'accomplir la quête du Graal. THE BENCH IS OCCUPIED BY LANCELOT AND GUINEVERE! Since a long time, Lassay-les-Châteaux is linked to the Arthurian legend, and more particularly, to one of its most famous knights: Lancelot du Lac. Son of a king, he first is called Galaad. He is kidnapped as a child by the fairy Viviane (the Lady of the Lake) who renames him Lancelot. Having reached adulthood, he becomes one of the best knights of the Round Table. His love for Queen Guinevere, wife of King Arthur, makes him unclean, thus preventing him from completing the quest for the Grail. LANCELOT UND GUINEVERE BESETZEN DIE BANK! Lassay-les-Châteaux ist seit langem mit der Artussage verbunden, insbesondere mit einem ihrer berühmtesten Ritter: Lancelot du Lac. Als Sohn eines Königs wird er zuerst Galaad genannt. Als Kind wird er von der Fee Viviane (die Dame des Sees) entführt, die ihn in Lancelot umbenannt. Später als Erwachsener wird er einer der besten Ritter der Tafelrunde. Seine Liebe zu Königin Guinevere, der Frau von König Artus, macht ihn unrein und hindert ihn so daran, die Suche nach dem Gral abzuschliessen.

Faire le tour à pied des remparts de la Haute-Ville de Granville est une des choses à faire si on veut découvrir cette cité. D'ici, on a une vue sur les différentes facettes qui composent la cité portuaire : de son passé le plus ancien, remontant au Moyen-Âge, à aujourd'hui. KLEINER SPAZIERGANG IN GROSSER GESCHICHTE. Die Stadtmauern der Oberstadt von Granville zu umgehen, ist etwas, das man machen sollte, wenn man diese Stadt entdecken will. Von hier aus hat man einen Blick auf die unter- schiedlichen Facetten, die die Hafenstadt ausmachen : von der ältesten Vergangenheit über das Mittelalter bis heute.

The Granville casino has been listed as a historical monument since 1992, it is housed in a building dating from 1910, built on a terrace at the foot of the beach. The exterior architecture is reminiscent of Indian palaces and that of the interior blends art nouveau and regionalist style. LA CLÔTURE DE LA TOUR. Le casino de Granville est inscrit au titre des monuments historiques depuis 1992, il est abrité dans un bâtiment datant de 1910, construit sur une terrasse au pied de la plage. L’architecture extérieure rappelle les palais indiens et celle de l’intérieur mêle art nouveau et style régionaliste. DER ZAUN VOM KASINOTURM. Das Kasino von Granville steht seit 1992 unter Denkmalschutz und ist in einem Gebäude aus dem Jahr 1910 untergebracht, das auf einer Terrasse am Fuße des Strandes erbaut wurde. Die Aussenarchitektur erinnert an indische Paläste und die Innenarchitektur verbindet Jugendstil und regionalistischen Stil.

L'Allée couverte de la "Hamelinière" a été construite au début du 3e millénaire avant J.-C. Les vestiges de cette sépulture collective du néolithique mesurent plus de 9 m de long et 2 m de large. TRIP TO THE DISTANT PAST. The gallery grave of the "Hamelinière" was built at the beginning of the 3rd millennium BC. The remains of this collective Neolithic burial site are over 9 m long and 2 m wide. REISE IN DIE FERNE VERGANGENHEIT. Das Galeriegrab der "Hamelinière" wurde zu Beginn des 3. Jahrtausends v. Chr. erbaut. Die Überreste dieses kollektiven neolithischen Bestattungsortes sind über 9 m lang und 2 m breit.

Le château de Combourg aux multiples vies est tour à tour forteresse protectrice, berceau du romantisme, hôpital militaire. Il fut entièrement restauré au XIXème siècle dans le goût néogothique sous l’influence d’Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. L'écrivain et homme politique François-René de Chateaubriand y passa son enfance et l’immortalisa dans ses "Mémoires d’outre-tombe". Classé monument historique, le château est toujours habité par les descendants de Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, frère ainé de l’auteur. HIDDEN... AND HAUNTED ?? The castle of Combourg with "multiple lives" is in turn protective fortress, cradle of romanticism, military hospital. It was completely restored in the 19th century in neo-Gothic style under the influence of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The writer and politician François-René de Chateaubriand spent his childhood there and immortalized it in his "Memoirs of beyond the grave". Listed as a historical monument, the castle is still inhabited by the descendants of Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, the author's elder brother. VERSTECKTES SPUKSCHLOSS ? Das Schloss Combourg hatte mehrere "Leben": abwechselnd Schutzburg, Wiege der Romantik, Lazarett. Es wurde im 19. Jh. im neugotischen Stil unter dem Einfluss von Eugène Viollet-le-Duc vollständig restauriert. Der Schriftsteller und Politiker François-René de Chateaubriand hat dort seine Kindheit verbracht und sie in seinen "Erinnerungen jenseits des Grabes" verewigt. Das denkmalgeschützte Schloss wird noch immer von den Nachkommen von Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, dem älteren Bruder des Autors, bewohnt.
