1740 Epirrhoe galiata (Galium Carpet)

1740 Epirrhoe galiata (Galium Carpet)
Geometridae, Larentiinae - Wingspan: 26-30mm.

Another locally distributed species, which is quite close to the previous two species. Identification can be made from slightly concave wing leading edges, a broader mid-wing black band, and a bisecting line at the tip of the fore-wings. This species can be found on coastal dunes, or grassland areas in Cornwall, with greater numbers being recorded in the east of the county.

The flight season is made up from two overlapping generations annually, peaking in June and August. However, individuals may be seen from April to October.
