Lone Tree at Silverdale

Lone Tree at Silverdale
Back to the coastline of Lancashire with this view up towards Grange over Sands in Cumbria. A splendid tree here with its twisty branches. The sea and sand looks attractive but are some of the most dangerous in Britain.

Enjoy full screen.

Yes, a shared subject. As you know I used to take a lot of these but not as many nowadays. I know you have been around here but I don't think you got down to Jenny Browns Point.

Keep well. Herb

I would so love to see the coast. The sea is 245 km far from here. That's beautiful.

Too far away for me. I prefer sea with good mountains too and also the opportunity to get to the city. You have a few like that in Italy.

Keep safe. Herb

Blimey, I'm impressed that the tree is still standing...........it certainly showing the effects of the weather standing all alone on the beach.

I like it's shape though............and it looks quite lovely against the sky. A super location and view as well.

They are born tough in Lancashire Keith. Got to take a lot of flack besides wind :) Its like me, showing the effects of the weather here :)
Good that you enjoyed its shape.

There's a very similar tree near where I live (up on the top of the South Downs) which gets the full force of the wind and weather:

The lone tree is defying the elements Herb! It makes a good picture and the beauty of that coast has its dangers, reading your information.
All the best, Rosa.

Thanks for another visit this area Rosa. yes, the coast is pretty to see but deadly as well. Not very far from the infamous Chinese Cockle disaster.

Best wishes, Herb

Tough life for any tree like this this close to the sea, salt, wind, water all make you wonder just how its still going and standing so straight. my kind of shot.
