Meditation at Loch Muick

Meditation at Loch Muick
A walk along the near shores of this fine uplands loch brings us to the old boat-house. To my surprise this is the scene that greeted me. A quite word later, I found out that he and some friends were just stopping around there for a night or so to feel 'At One with Nature'.

Nouchetdu38, Gudrun, Annemarie, and 20 other people have particularly liked this photo

Funny enough, the last time I heard a piper in the wild countryside was in the Lake District! Glad you enjoyed it.

It was extremely quite except for the inquisitive tourist with a camera around their neck :)

Ha! Not something you come across every day! He certainly looks at one with nature. You weren't tempted to join him then :) Cheers, Rosa.

Herb Riddle club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
Thanks Rosa and no, I was not tempted, but without him being there I would have skipped to the end of the stone pier to take a photo of the boat house maybe :) However I think this capture was the better shot.

Indeed I did Peter, part of my conversation with him. I never got his email address to send him a final copy though. Maybe he will see this and ask for it? Not sure if they have mobile phone coverage in the Tibet mountains :)

Wonderful timing and a great shot Herb. We have come across a few strange sights in Scotland but nothing like this!

Well there you go Carol. You never really know what may be around the corner. No idea where these guys came form or where they were staying as I had already broke into his concentration with nature and I did not want to trouble him more than necessary. In fairness, this spot was on the edge of a most popular part of this walking path and so if he wanted more peace -maybe a better place could have been found. ~ Herb

Very happy that you have been amused by this photo Jose. I quite understand your 'sore ass' problems, as I often feel the same way after a few hours on Ipernity. Maybe I should try sitting on a stone in water too?

I saw the same scene at Loch Coruisk in the Cuillins of Skye in 1978. I took a photo (with his permission) but sadly the photo, and many others from that time. is no mpore.

Maybe its a part of the world where Buddhist go for a bit of Zen. I took this with his permission too and I am glad I captured it OK. I know what you mean about lost photos. I have a period of about 5 great years taking photos with my Olypus trio -all 35mm- all prints only. I have the prints but nothing on here. Great to see you here lad. Keep well and I hope you survive the heat.

Om....He fits right into the landscape! The Highlands probably serve as well as the Himalayas. I have seen stupas and prayer flags in the Alps so why not in Scotland:-)
