Low Light on The Old Toll House
Much of Ruyton XI Towns is built on a red sandstone outcrop, Consequently many old walls and some old buildings are constructed using this material. The redness is accentuated by the low light. This circular toll-house has a conical slate roof, and was erected in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century.
The old toll house, now a private dwelling, stands next to an ancient stone bridge wide enough for only one vehicle. The Platl Mill Bridge was designed and built in 1791 by Edward Cureton.and crosses the River Perry, which joins the Severn near Shrewsbury.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Amelia club????
The jetty looks to be no more than the length of the building, as one might expect!
Nonetheless it is quite long! Many in the south east of England don't extend the full length of the property. I only commented because my old local in Pinner, Middlesex had reputedly the longest jetty in the County.
Have a good weekend!
Best wishes, Andy
Amelia club has replied to Andy Rodker clubHi Andy, we seem to be talking at cross purpose here. What do you mean by a jetty? To me a jetty is a fishing pier or the like, and as the photo was originally mapped over the on the west coast of North America .
I need further explanation of a full length jetty. ;-)
