Ferrara was hot
Not so hot perhaps as Evansville, Indiana, but 35º C/95º F is more than any ol’ hyperborean can bear (without sweating). The hotel, nice enough otherwise, had no airconditioning –perhaps we should have stayed in our car.

The plain of the river Po is noted for hot summers, and in Ferrara many houses are prepared for it:

Our hotel was in an old building, and solutions like the above probably weren’t allowed. We had an electric fan in our room, though! :-)
