Touring the lake

Heading out on the coastal lake at Mallacoota in Victoria, on the "MV Loch Ard", originally built as a ferry over a century ago and, now restored, operating lake tours. See also PiP (previous image).

Later thought; that would be a beautiful ride particularly on the fresh water lake though I guess there would be some forest burnt to the water's edge. I guess also it may have developed more since the mid 70s... We will get back there one day er um week, or two, maybe for our 50th...

Yes, given the sad history of the earlier "Loch Ard", it's hard to imagine why this boat was given that name - I'm fairly sure it wasn't the original name for it. Either way, Mallacoota is still a great place to visit despite the fires, and I can recommend this trip if you're down there.
