Southern Right Whale
My recent images have had some references to whale watching . Whales migrate up the eastern coast of Australia in August to calve in warmer waters, returning to the Antarctic area about November. This Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis) apparently calved in our local bay, causing quite a degree of local excitement. More images in the PiPs, also a long shot of a Humpback Whale breaching offshore.

It is a very exciting to see the whales in the wild.
I've only seen the occasional hump.. never the big tail.!!!
